Greg's almost manic attraction to paddle powered fishing craft began in college with a small aluminum
johnboat found in the bushes by a Georgia bass pond. With a cast iron pot for an anchor, a board for a paddle,
and a second hand fly rod, Greg started down a path that 18 years later has grown into a full-fledged fishing
career.

Since that fateful discovery by that tiny lake, Greg got his captain's license, became a certified fly casting
instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers, has published over 50 articles in outdoor and fishing magazines,
and has guided many anglers to their very first snook, redfish, and tarpon on fly out of his flats boat.

After college, Greg developed a passion for "sit inside" sea kayaks and had taken a few paddling trips with
guides over the years on the coast of Georgia. Years later, after moving to Florida and seeing a "SOT" fishing
kayak for the very first time, his whole world changed over night.  "It was like finding that john boat in the woods
only 1000 times better. I finally found 'my sport': paddle fishing!"

These days, Greg can be found (if you can find him) deep in the mangrove backcountry of
Sarasota, FL
throwing flies and soft plastics at tarpon, redfish, and snook from his Ocean Kayak Prowler 13.

When he isn't out on the water, he is tirelessly promoting fishing from a kayak through his articles and at outdoor shows, and at Angler's Outlet, the
tackle/fly/kayak shop in Cape Coral of which he is co-owner.  He is also guiding more from kayaks than the boat these days.  "People are really
discovering the many benefits of fishing from kayaks. This is one sport that is here to stay."
